Marinduque is the heart-shaped island province of the Philippines. If you want to experience something new, have some fresh air, and want to escape the city? We, the 4th year students of the Philippine Women's University, suggest that you visit and discover the beauty of Marinduque province.
We stayed at Wawies Beach Resort for 3 days and 2 nights. Wawies Beach Resort is one of the best places to stay in Maniwaya Island. They offer spacious camping grounds for tents and have native fan rooms, open cabanas and aircon rooms. We stayed in their open cabanas.
Electricity only runs from 3:00 pm to midnight in Maniwaya Island, so be sure to charge your gadgets before that time. The resort has a generator, but if there are only a few guests, they don’t turn it on because it’s very expensive, so just opt for the non-AC rooms or tent. There are public shared restrooms outside.
Our first destination was the Ungab Rock Formation which is one of the most iconic natural landmarks of the province of Marinduque. Its most characteristic feature is the arch formed through years of erosion. Situated on the eastern coast of the island of Mongpong, the Ungab Rock Formation stands next to a beach and is surrounded by clear blue and turquois waters.
After Ungab Rock Formation, we headed to Palad Sand Bar, the most remarkable thing about this sandbar is the clarity of the water, indeed it was an amazing place.
The next day we went to these places, and it was really a peaceful place.

Right after, we had our lunch at Kusina sa Plaza, they offered a lot of delicious meal, that surely you won't regret.
After we had our lunch, we went to a souvenir shop namely Rejano's Bakery. They are also selling bread, you must try it.
In the afternoon, we went to White Sand Beach Resort, to relax, to take photos and to create memories as well. It was a great experience, for a meantime we forgot our own problems in life. We had just fun and enjoyed the moment.
The next day we went to Balanacan View Deck, as you can see, it has a breathtaking view, indeed an instagrammable view, so do not forget to visit here once you traveled in Marinduque.
On our way home, we ride a RORO from Marinduque to Lucena Port for about almost 3 hours.
I will never forget the memories we shared together with my classmates and especially my professor. Marinduque tour tough me a lot and gave me a lot of experiences.
